Well Red Eye, and my fellow Cylons... sean's handy work has arrived... and...

I LOVE IT!

And yes... more pics to follow... I well eventually put it down (sometime) and then I can take some photos of it

Congratulations for getting such a nicely crafted prop!

Please be sure to add a laser sound effect for proper protection of your Imperious Leader!

BY YOUR COMMAND!

Yes, sean crafted it all ready for electronics!

I have a switch that he created a spot for... and let me tell you... it fits PERFECT. From just under 1,200 miles away he got the spot for a switch he never saw in person - EXACTLY right! I've been watching the Saga of Star World over in slow motion trying to figure out just how many lights are in a Cylon rifle. They sequence SO FAST that I'll have to use my DVD player that can advance frame-by-frame. The media player in my computer can't go that slow (even in "slow mode"). I am guessing there are three lights. And it is OBVIOUS that they are blue lights. AND VERY BRIGHT lights too. So I'm thinking of super birght LEDs.

I was also looking at speakers. There is not much "room" in the rifle for a good sized round speaker. I found a nice little square speaker... about 1 1/4" square yesterday (didn't buy it, just doing recon ;)). I was wondering if that would work - be loud enough. I need to get a nice clean sound effect of the rifle fire, and an MP3 player to all wire up to my switch.

Indeed, I have to do it RIGHT and well... so that the awesome prop sean created is fully honored!

After I've did this little set of screen-caps from "Gun on Ice Planet Zero" were Vulpa firing his rifle, I came to realize that the clear parts of the barrel were equipped with blue lights which are simulating the "laser" effect.

I think I've also seen this row of lights on one of the hero rifles (see red markings):

AH HA! TO THE DVDs ;)
EXCELLENT suggestion Red Eye... that shot of Vulpa's shot  is GOOD. He got a Colonial with it too... heehee... but then Starbuck shot him in the back and then the chest! HOW RUDE lol

Now upon reviewing my DVD in an exhaustive 15 minute super slow-mo study. (Still on my TV, right now, paused) I have to agree with you Red Eye. There are more than 3 or 4 lights. I am guessing there are a total of 8.
Borrowing your pics Red Eye ;)

Image
-There is only one lens flare on Vulpa's helmet

Image
-There are TWO blue lens flares, not just one. Two lights, the camera sees them both, not a "just because it is so bright" or it would have the one on the helmet doubled too.

Image
-Back to just the single flare

Image
-I agree there many lights. And they light in four groups of two.
__________________________________________________

Super Slow Motion step through of the 4 frames of the shot:
FRAME ONE
Image
-Vulpa pulls the trigger to seal the doom of a rotten Colonial! :cylongold: (Go Vulpa!) and two lights light at the back of the barrel light, ALSO, the clear tip lights up. NEXT FRAME

FRAME TWO
-The next pair of lights down the barrel light come on, the first two go off - again two based on two lens flairs on screen, and a single one on Vupla's helmet is also totally visible (not pictured in the caps here). The clear tip is also still lit, it has remained on since the first frame... the barrel lights are the only sequencing thing so far. NEXT FRAME

FRAME THREE
-The rifle's lens flairs are all gone, but there are obvious blue lights in the next section of the rifle. I think this is a perspective issue... the black "bars" and the angle of the gun keep the true light from being seen by the camera - hence no flair just a glow. INTERESTING thing in this frame is the tip has gone out - it is not lit up like before, only has a faint blue glow like the barrel (not pictured in the caps here). NEXT FRAME

FRAME FOUR
-Just the clear tip is lit again and it is BRIGHT. Again there is a double flair... there must be a "pair light" right at the end of the barrel behind the tip, or a two lights the tip... it is REALLY bright - brighter than frames 1 and 2 (not pictured in the caps here).

So Cylon-Knight analysis of the Red Eye information and DVDs leads me to believe. 8 lights. And one 1 crazy sequence

Here is an animation I've made for how I think the lights go - based on the Vulpa shot.
(NOTE at the end of the sequence, there are two lights in the tip, not just one as the rest of the shot).

On the original Cylon rifle, there are seven strobes that sequence one at a time from back to front timed so the entire effect takes place over about two movie frames.

Will do.

SO, does anyone have any idea who owns a hero rifle? They need to join the Cylon Empire and ByYourCommand.net.... TODAY. We gotta track em down.

I have no idea who owns, but there are a lot of just weapon collectors out there that just collect weapons only, and no love for Galactica or other shows they collect from. I have sold to some of these guys, and they just want the weapons. I used to own a few weapons that weren't BSG related, and I had this feeling from the dealing. All of these guys had in their personal inventory over 200 weapons each. I doubt if any of these guys were willing to share information after what they wanted they got from me, and that was that.
