CYLON Build Nashslash.. FINISHED !

OK, as I'm making a new cylon I better start a build thread for myself. OK I have the kit including a fibreglass Lid and Backpack. Here's a few pictures of my progress so far. Minor repairs to the lid and backpack ready for chroming. Started to trim and cut out the kit. Lots of preparation.

Any questions you have or any advise ...fire away

Note. I'm using my other protect lid just for the shot. As I'm making a new cylon and getting it chromed I decided to get the other Lid I have chromed too, rather than painting it.

Trimmed and ready for primer so far are.

All the belt boxes (God that was Boring)
Chest piece
Ribs
Both Arm Rings

Looking very good so far, except the salt and pepper wholes seem a bit big, but if your costuming around a bit you will need it. Also you can hide that a bit with some chrome Mylar transparent tape.

The lid with the holes is my other project build. The holes are a little big but once re primed and chromed they will fill slightly. And once chromed there be difficult to see....

Looking GREAT! Yeah the holes should fill up, the chrome reflections will hide them some, everyone will be looking at the scanner, and at over 6 foot tall, who's going to look you in the eye much?!

Do you have a photo of you wearing the parts from the side? I was interested to see how the helmet (lid) and collar/back pack "fit" ... how close they are, etc.

Can't wait to see more.

I think you want to have the shoulder bells in four pieces to have chromed. I don't think that is a good idea to have them built up like that before having them chromed.

The primer/sanding does look smooth like glass. Great work my friend.

P.S. Tell your wife to stop leaving all those little bits of plastic all over the ground in the garden I see them in the shoulder bell photo. lol

Single piece fibreglass Dale from CORA. I'm having to bond some broom handle mounts into it. The screw in type then use plastic screw in handles for the chroming process to hold the item securely.

I'm doing the gauntlets right now and have gone for solid/seamless. Although I understand the originals used tape and material as a hinge, when complete I'll be trooping in the badass.

You can see how I'm doing them in the picture. Once there set and filled I'll sand them down and fill any little blemishes along the seam. Once complete I will glue some foam into the gauntlet so as to hold it in position while on my arm.

I like what your doing, but one thing to try before you finish it off is can you get your hand out the hole on the small end?
