GREAT NEWS!
Are the robes ready? Suit up and walk around in it on a vid - I could add Cylon music etc. We can work up a little IL fan vid

There's still a few minor work to be done on the robe. But this shouldn't take long.Cylon-Knight wrote:GREAT NEWS!

Can't wait to see the finished costume all set up on the throne/pedestal...

Good idea with the fan film. I think we can work something out as soon as everything's completed.

Re: My Imperious Leader costume
Yesterday, I was able to finally pick up some new toys from my pal.
I've taken the Sentry Robot pistol, the Imperious Leader pet and *Cylon fanfare* the Imperious Leader mask home with me.
You can see the pics of the Sentry pistol in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=1024&start=15
But now, let's get on with the Leader.
First, here are two pics of him ready to go home with me (sadly, there wasn't any Basestar available so he has to take my car
):

And here are some pics of the *almost* complete costume on display (I hope I can take some photos of him on his throne soon):

The last pics featuring me wearing the costume (mask + robe) together FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME (and believe me, it's HOT inside the mask):

You might have noticed that the headpiece is still missing. But let me explain:
After looking closely at the photos we had of the original mask and headpiece, my pal an I came to realize that our replica was way to small. So he will scale it up a bit to give it a closer match to the real deal. He stated that he'll need two weeks for finishing it up, so prepare to see some pics of the Leader's fancy wig soon!
Sadly, I've forgot to take the dark red leather with me to make the scales for the robe so I have to wait for my next visit to start working on it...

Re: My Imperious Leader costume
Looking great, awesome looking, and a great piece to have in the collection. Is there any updates on copies of this guy to be sold?
Thanks for the updates on the head piece also, and the color shift.

Re: My Imperious Leader costume
Red Eye - one word.... PERFECT.
You and your pal, dare I say, have outdone the original. I love the pic of him in the car
too cool.
Did you have the right eye light off? It seems like in some photos that it was out... maybe it was the angle or the flash making it seem out.
What are your plans for the head? Any fans or other type of cooling system? How is the vision out of it? DETAILS!
... email me more if you have time. Love it, love it, LOVE IT!

I've once talked about copies with my pal. Basically, he sees no problem in making another mask but I don't know when he has the time to do it.
I also know he likes to make his own mask for himself. When he's making his own, it wouldn't be a problem for him to do a second, I think.
Would you like to have a full painted copy with illuminated eyes or just the raw mask for painting/wiring by yourself?

Thanks again!
To answer your questions:
Here is a photo of how the eyes will look like in a bit darker environment again:

The eyes are powered by a 9V battery which is linked to switch for activating them. On this photo, you can also see the wiring which runs down the back of the mask:

To answer your questions:
No, both eyes glow the same green. It's hard to see in the light of day but in a dimly lit room you can see it much better (like the Centurions' eye scanners).Cylon-Knight wrote:Did you have the right eye light off?

I wish we could install any fans inside for cooling. Because of the foam core of the mask, it's really getting hot inside. The only problem is that the mask was made using a mold of my own face for optimal fitting, so it doesn't provide any additional space for adding anything inside.Cylon-Knight wrote:What are your plans for the head? The vision is slightly better compared to the tiny "salt-and-pepper" holes of a Centurion helmet. The eyeholes are located at the forehead and were covered with black window screen to avoid seeing the wearers eyes behind it:Cylon-Knight wrote:How is the vision out of it?

VERY NICE! Maybe you could run a hose into the mask that would push in cool air? You'd have to do something if it was to be worn for awhile.

Yes, maybe my pal knows a solution for that problem...
