Cylon rifle

I wonder if the original Cylon rifle stocks were made of wood or plastic?

The rifle was a vacuum formed piece

I don't have a rifle on my suit either. That diagram of the barrel tip helps. I personally know more than one person that are full time costume / prop makers as their full time job, so I'll probably have one of them sculpt up a rifle for me, then be able to either make resin copies, or vacuumformed halves like you guys said the originals were. I already checked with C.O.R.A. about Dale's side details molds he had and he said he can't find them at the moment, so not sure what we'll do about that part. Heck, if we had access to an original rifle, we could cast that one up and then all of us Cylon costumers would have the most accurate guns to use with our costumes.

Dale, how about making a cast of the ENTIRE rifle? Would that be possible?

I think a rifle kit in 1:1 scale would sell like hotcakes, or should I be mistaken?

Okay, I can imagine that this would be no easy undertaking, but maybe you could rethink about it...

I would think a cast would be a risk to the original. May damage it or something... hummm... I don't know?! Anyway, it would be a fun project to undertake to try and copy one - like the suit.

I guess, after my suit is done, I could try a rifle. Until then I'll just carry around a big spoon or something to smack any colonials I see *SMACK*

Didn't someone on hear make and sell side plates for the rifle at one time? Did I read that here?

Would like to get a set of these as I am gearing up to possibly start making the rifles to sell if practicle and I want them to be as accurate as possible.

The side panels are now gone. There was a linter run on them and they went quick. Sorry but I would like to see your rifle.

I've got my two side panels from Dale as he used to sell them on eBay.

My rifle measures 31,6 inches, including the bayonet.

Annoyingly, I've got the Profiles in History auction catalog #17, which stated the the rifle measured 36 3/4 inches, after my rifle was completed so it's a little smaller than the original... but I think there are worse things in life...
