Ok - the under suit. I have been discussing it with with my good Cylon friends nashslash and Mardikrewe... and I've gone on a fabric scounting trip and didn't have much luck.

Image
Here is my sample from nashslash... next to a light gray vinyl for patches maybe?? No. Too light.

Image
Here is my sample from nashslash... next to a darker gray vinyl for patches maybe?? It is okay I think.

I've noticed that Centurions also seem to have to different colors for patches - arms are gun metal gray - legs are black???

Here is my sample from nashslash... next to a the only fabric I could find in the store that was close to the color of the plum. This fabric is not lycra and it has a slight shine to it. It is a tad too purple, but close. The lady helping me said that lcyra is more for dance/and swimware... so that is why stores mostly stock bright colors like yellow, pink, sky blue, etc. in lycra.

Now, the store DID have black in fabric, and in vinyl. I think I will make my entire under suit out of balk. Fabric, ribbings, patches - everything. Some day when maybe I can find the right color stuff, I'll make a second and better suit - after learning on the first all back suit.

That is... unless any Cylons out there have a fabric source they can share with the other Centurions looking for the right fabrics.

Good luck with your undersuit anyway, Knight.

To answer your question about the patches: All of them have the same
color (gunmetal).

Are you sure? Check out this photo... the shoulders and leg patches seem to be rather different??? The legs patches look rather black in color - same as the boots and gloves???

All the material used is either the plum Lycra, or the vinyl like patch work that was also the same material for the ribbing.

I thought the ribbing was made of black vinyl instead of the gunmetal-colored material which was used for the patches...

Well I have decided - BY MY COMMAND Image - with all the lack of fabric/info/and patients (HA) my first under suit will be all black. Black base, black ribs, black patches.

For a second much later suit I'll try to match plum and patch colors. Probably using dye on white lycra. And this suit will be better crafted after LEARNING on the first suit.

And MAYBE (one day) I'll make a third green toned under suit for some St. Patrick's Day fun.
