Update started work in earnest on my undersuit tonight. Its going to be a long task. Its taken me about 3 hours to do a 9 rib section. Hopefully I'll get a little faster the more I do. Take it easy on me fellow centurions I am not a professional seamstress but any means.
Heres a little video, enjoy

WOW

Looking great, I think you will pick up speed - you'll probably have your suit done in 2 weeks.

Update

The undersuit, without question one of the hardest parts of the cylon costume. Since I have No pattern to work from I have trying to develop my own. It real is a question of make the item see if it fits and re draw the pattern and start again. Here are a few bit I've made so far.

Here are a few pictures of my first pair of pants. A bit to tight above the knee. As I still have the pattern its a question of going back re draw the pattern putting a little more just above the knee then re cut and re stitch. I also made the top again, I think the pattern was originally made for a midget. I've since re drawn the pattern, and am ready to re-cut the top and try again. Since I was playing around I decided to stitch some of the ribbing into the top to see what it may look like when its finally finished.

My final goal is to create a undersuit pattern.

Rough cut pants first attempt.

Rough cut top with ribbing attached. Held together at the back by my hand only..no arms on the top either...

Agreed. Great work.

The color of your fabric is a very close match to the original as well.

The thing about cameras, and video monitors the colors are always off compared to what you see in real life. The fabric might be 100% dead of, but just the flash alone can change the way to see it, but I have to say awesome selection of plum you have there :P

Good call GoldCylon - and the same goes for "1978 on screen Cylons" ... the color we saw on TV/in the DVDs... may be nothing like the "real" color of the costumes. A perfect match is probably a hair away from impossible.

In real life the lighting in a room can affect a color appearance and the ability to judge precise color values. Color should be "correctly judged" in 5,000 degree Kelvin lighting in a light booth with Munsell #8 walls. (YES, I went to college for that one folks!)
