Coloring for starpping and soft parts

Post by Mardikrewe » Mon Jul 27, 2009 5:42 am

I think the suit is complete!

One of the problems was lacking my rib pieces which are now complete but still had issues after photo's of seeing the black elastic stripping holding on parts. Looked a bit cheesy so I experimented with dying.

First I bought all white elastic ............. dyed it purple, whitened it a fair bit to much lighter than the suit, then took black dye and dipped in the straps for a brief second 3 times while rinsing ................ BINGO .... exact match!

Although they are still visable if you look close, only the trained eye can pick them up now. Even after all of this I am going to engineer a way so they are not visable at all but this will do for now. All of this cost less then 20 dollars.

I will send pic's to Knight of the old version and the new improved.

From a recent Con - and - a few of my strapping project:

1. New strapping connecting back pack .............. see the plum color is not near as noticeable.

2. Side view after stuffing them behind the chest piece.

Some fun pic's we did with a a guy dressed from the reimagined.

See how the straps without the ribs and being black you can spot from miles away.

Here's another from the back .................. everyone try not to cut up by back pack ..... I need to replace:).

Long story short ............. I got the ribs from CORA via Gold. Next is to do a new back pack ....... it's a Krop and I think everyone has noticed:).

A easy but great idea to help blend in the straps. Great idea.

Would like to see loads of pictures of your undersuit if you get the chance...

I guess the straps you have are a Krop item, because this isn't the way it should be done although you have done a good job hiding the straps.

A few things you can do to get away from the straps are as follows.

1 Criss cross suspenders over your shoulders to pull the undersuit up. That will hide that part via the chest plate, and the bottom side of the L's in the back pack.

2 Use Velcro on the chest piece up at the top in the center and have attach behind the face plate on the back pack.

3 Place Velcro on the shoulders of the under suit to secure the shoulder bells to your suit.

Yeah .............. it's a Krop back Pack. Next on my list of replacement items.

As far as strap placement, I already do the under suit that way and the shoulder bell's but .......... it's the wieght of my sound system that drag's up my chest plate towards my neck seal.

I will experiment again with this. Thanks for the help.
