"Chopper One" clips

Post by Hope It Is The Grog » Wed Feb 26, 2014 1:35 pm

I'd never gone looking for clips of Chopper One before, but just found a couple of clips from the pilot episode that have been there since 2006. Only a handful of lines from Dirk, but beggars can't be choosers.

Then there's audio of the theme song, apparently both opening and closing:

And I suppose I should have posted this in the Media/Video forum, shouldn't I?

I hate to admit it, but it looks like a fairly boring show, unless you happen to be a fan of watching helicopters maneuver around. :ugh:

The producers clearly didn't have a grasp on acting. They thought the helicopter was going to be the focal point.

I've always had faint childhood memories of the show, but all they consisted of was "There was a helicopter." I see now they were pretty much on the money.

It is a last ditched effort to try to grab a few more dollars from the show. It didn't last long enough in a series to have reruns, so home release is just about all they can do. I bet Dirk is at the mail box now waiting for his slice of the penny he might get from this.

Someone on Amazon helpfully listed the guest actors from each episode. There were several Star Trek veterans, and I recognize John Quade and Kenneth Tobey as having played sheriffs in Galactica 1980. Also, it's cool that Lloyd Bochner (Commandant Leiter) and Frank Marth (Josh Moreland) appeared in the same Chopper One episode before both appearing in Greetings from Earth.

Disc 1
PILOT Skye Aubrey, Jesse Vint, Richard X Slattery, Arch Johnson, Hank Brandt, Paul Sorenson
STRAIN OF INNOCENCE - Laurie Prange, James Luisis, James Daughton, Dabbs Greer
THE BUST-OUT - Michael Ansara, Eddie Firestone, Vince Howard, Victor Argo, Anthony Carbone
THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF - Michael James Wixted, Lawrence Montaigne, Mitzi Hoag, Bruce Kirby, Dave Morick, Dallas Mitchell
AMBUSH (listed on the menu as The Informer) William Lucking, Allan Arbus, Taylor Lacher, Austin Stoker
THE INFORMER (listed on the menu as The Informant) Dick Van Patten, Mark Lenard, Anthony Eisley, Robert Phillips, Patricia Smith, Marvin Kaplan, Charles Picerni

DISC 2

THE DROP - William Windom, John Quade, Ross Elliott, Lew Brown, Jamie Smith-Jackson
THE HIJACKING - Nick Nolte, Darleen Carr, Art Lund, George Sawaya, Richard D Hurst, Roy Jenson
KILLING TIME - Lloyd Bochner, Norman Alden, Frank Marth, Philip Chapin, Danna Hansen
THE COPPERHEAD - Edward Binns, Ford Rainey, Brian Culhane, Christopher Stone, Frank Whiteman, Gil Stuart, Devlin Foster, Don Gentry, Ray Sharkey
UNDERCOVER (listed on the menu as The Hijacking) - Jennifer Shaw, Buddy Joe Hooker, John Hudson, Dan Rogers, Fred Hice, Ralph Garrett
DOWNTIME - Kenneth Tobey, William Watson, Dub Taylor, Robert Cleaves
THE DEADLY CARRIER - France Nuyen, Penny Fuller, Harry Lauter, Kim Hamilton, Bern Hoffman, Tony Young
