The item is an unknown item, but Mr Berkos said he didn't drive a straight recorded voice into the Vocoder but a combo of the voice, and then the same voice with a toy like in the above reply. Mr Berkos said is was a robotic like type sounding voice married into the human voice before it made its way to the Sennheiser.
Does he remember the keyboard or synth used? It had to be in use before 1978 (so 1977 at the latest). Ace Tone, Aries, Arp, Crumar, EDP, Elektor, Elka, Eminent, EML, ETI/Maplin, Farfisa, Godwin, Hillwood, Hohner, Jen, Korg, Logan, Moog, Multivox, Oberheim, Octave, Philips, Powertrancendent, Rhodes, Rocky Mountain Instruments, Roland, RSF, Sequential Circuits, Solina, and Yamaha.

The Cylon Vocoder is an EMS Vocoder!!! Also possibly used was the Marshall 5002 Time-Modulator!! Was an electric saxophone used with or instead of an unknown synthesizer or electric/electronic keyboard??

I am sorry, but he is elder an has lost detailed memory on items like that. That keyboard answer I am afraid is going to be an unknown, unless a list of things sold at Universal property sales can be hacked out.

Well according to Mr. Michael Santiago when he went to do the voice with Mr. Winrich Kolbe, the producer or associate producer (the one who hired Mr. Santiago to do the voice work for the Cylons) he said they used a saxophone (I'm guessing electric since it would need to be able to produce a signal). Chris Dexter says this sound HIGHLY PLAUSIBLE if you listen to the Cylon mp3 demos!! So there may be NO synth involved than. Even though Mr. Santiago didn't say it, I'm thinking that Mr. Kolbe is the one at Universal or Glen A. Larson Productions that went out and actually purchased all the equipment used such as the vocoder, electric sax, etc. Mr. Santiago gave a contact phone # and a company email address for Mr. Kolbe, BUT UNFORTUNATELY I haven't had any luck with the email and Chris wasn't able to reach him by phone.
