Cylon Helmet Paint color ?

Post by belleauwood » Mon Apr 07, 2008 6:18 am

I'm wondering if anyone has an original helmet that they took the trouble to color match the painted part of the back of the helmet. I think we went over this before, but I dunno what happened to the thread, it seems to have fallen off or something. I figured if I need to know, I'm sure theres more of you out there who need to too . . . so why not start a new thread.

I'm pretty sure the eye "slit" is pure flat black, and I think the "mouth" is the same color as the back painted part, which looks to me like a dark gray . . . almost a dark primer gray. And, is it flat, matte, semi gloss . . . I don't think its gloss, but I could be wrong.

Anyhow . . . anyone know?

Thanks

Ryan

Hey Ryan
The helmets had two color variations. The back ground helmets had a lighter color over the close up hero helmet version. The eye piece on all the helmets are a flat black. The back ground Cylon have a gray mouth grill, and the same color for the 1/4 pie section in the back half of the helmet. The hero version of the grill and back section are a gun metal color.

Thanks for the fast response. I had gunmetal in mind, but wasn't sure why.
Any chance you matched one with actual available colors?
I know, I'm greedy . . .

I haven't ever taken the two swatches of color into a color reader. Just something I need to do someday.
