Original Cylon Centurion helmet reference photos

Post by Red Eye » Mon Sep 12, 2011 12:39 pm

Several months ago, an original Cylon Centurion helmet with INTACT electronics/wiring was sold at Heritage Auctions for $9.560.

The photos featured in this auction were quite detailed and I hope it helps installing your electronics using this as reference:

PS: I've got the Cylon Centurion photo posted earlier from this source, too!

The more photos I see of these screen used original helmets I am not sure if the builders were plenty, and each had their own personal method of trying, or if was just a free for all in what ever works just get the thing put together. Most of the helmets I have seen have the same basic lay out, but a few were completely unlike anything I have seen in the past. This has the same basic lay out in location placement, but the tape is the most I have seen before, and the pin holes in the vision area. That is a new one also. Seems to me like this was a bit different also in the switching system like if was one of the power down, or speed up the light scanner.
Thanks for posting these photos.

Fantastic photos. nice and extra large.
If "they" say it can't be done, it just means "they" cant do it.

Those photos, at first, had me puzzled. They don't really seem "chrome" but I guess they do. It is just SO WHITE all around that the reflections are all white. The photographer was very smart to deal with the reflections.

You're right about that.

It was photographed in a bright environment, which eliminated the mirroring chrome effect so it looks more like a simple white Stormtrooper helmet now...

One trick on shooting a helmet is place it in a white screen photo box like they did and stand back as far as possible with a tripod and zoom in. The camera man won't be in the reflection of the chrome.
