I hope I'm not too late with this scan.
Maybe you could use it as reference while installing the brain tubes and eye scanners...

Very cool, and how does he do it. Easy he searches just like I used to do. He clearly picked up the ball where I left off in digging up, and finding these images. Good work Red Eye. Good work.

Re: I.L. Series head build
little update, Its the waiting game now as I have the eye area done to the top of the lips. Now I must let the glue dry over night to continue. I should have the model ready for resin tomorrow.

Awesome.....I have been watching my BSG TOS DVD's since this morning and your rendition is pretty dead on! I did notice that Spectre and Lucifer's head from the side appears not to be a perfect cone and does have some contour on the sides and on the top from the tip to the back but I could be wrong might be an optical ....did anybody else notice this.groupleaderzeta wrote:little update, Its the waiting game now as I have the eye area done to the top of the lips. If you are referring to the concave areas on the sides and front?
Yes I know, In the original 3D model it has that detail, I removed it to make building the paper model easier. My plans are to recast the paper model and even out the details. Referring to these pics, of a head you can see the details in the clear area.

man this is looking great. I am glad you are going more of a true line version, over the defects of how it was really made. The ears are what bothers me, while the rest is good enough. I guess I am a bit to critical of the original artist is all.

Could you explain in better detail about the defects you are referring? and your thoughts about the ears?GoldCylon wrote:man this is looking great. One thing I have been looking at was to roto-cast the lower (red/pink) part, and have the cone/dome vac-formed as one piece to remove the seam. Also I have clear casting resin with red and purple tint to make the eyes and lips. I think casting the lips in purple, eyes in red, and embedding the LEDs in the casting.
Anyone tried embedding leds in a cast?
