Galactica 1980 Turbo bike photos
OK Brian, and myself while running around in LA, and interviewing, visiting friends, Comic Con (detour to San Diego) we also made our way over to see the brothers that own the Galactica 1980 Turbo Bike aka "The Land Probe" This bike is the bike that number 2 or Kent McCord's flying motorcycle. A minor difference in the two I noted a while back, and I saw Kent was the driver of this bike. This was sold off by Universal decades ago after the 1992 fire. It was in the mix of a vehicle lot sale. The winning bidders wanted the car parts and really didn't care about the bike at all. They just parked it off to the side and sold it off when the older of the two brothers came in and made an offer. They owned a motorcycle repair shop, and was they repaired it, and had the damaged side from the fire repaired they displayed the bike in their shop for decades. They closed up shop about 5 years ago placed it up for sale on eBay where it went unsold. With the exception of a few minor screws loose or missing this machine is in ready to go condition. Since the brothers are mechanics I am sure they stored it so when it came time to fire it up they just would need to do a small shake down to get it to go again, and to get it to go they had to push start it. No kick start on this or electric starter. So below are a few sample photos of what we saw.

They hadn't started in years nor did I think about asking. I am sure if we spent an hour or so fixing things up, and a little gas we could have, but the enjoyment was more to see it than drive it. Maybe next time.

Well that drains the batteries to much. Just ask that kid who was playing ball with his dog when all off a sudden the Viper appeared. Now that is when I would have loved to be that kid my my iPhone...

No offer was made, but a price to part was asked. Happens to be that the other bike is for sale also, and it is the exact same price as this one. Sorry no comment on dollar amount.
