I'll break out the Hero metal grill and the sticky tape measure and take front back and side views to show off the details. I do agree with Cylon-Knight your work is outstanding as stand alone art. Also food for thought you are trying to make a helmet that did shrink a tad to fit a full sized grill if you are trying to spec it off the photos I posted.
no i was not referring to your cylon, but to my helmets soft edges and that the original master that it was taken from, the plastic seems to be pulled over a exact copy of a real helmet, so the plastic is larger than the master, with rounded out edges. i want the information that is inside the plastic to be my outside, more accurate sharper original self. i just want it to be crisp. and lean. right now its captain fat head with an extra 1/8 in the middle.

Finally, here are the higher-resoluted scans as promised!

Don't expect too much, I had to print some photos for achieving a better resolution so the quality isn't that great, but I fear this is the only reference available at this time...

I hope they'll help anyway.

Please keep us posted on any updates!

This pic the grill is sitting in the arch of a seat. It might not have a true measurement.

The HERO mouth grills were cast aluminum and the depression on the back side was to hold the housing for the electronics for the eye scanner. The house had a vacforumed insert to prevent a short on the board. The board was a pin and wire wrap not a etched PC board.

Nice pics there, Dale!

Is the pistol in photo #5 a recast?

The pistol is an original stunt weapon those off guard Cylons used when they went to rescue Cy. They dropped their weapons after Cy shot them. It has sand damage.

Cool stuff as usual!

There was a stunt pistol on eBay not so long ago and another one is for sale at propstore.com:

Its a bit steep in price, but so far I have been unimpressed with everything else i have found so far so I shilled out the cash as it better than nothing. Not sure if my pms went through. I heard the sample. Awesome! Give me a shout if you can. I'm out of my mind. I ordered one cylo hyperdyne vocoder.

Gold your pictures are nothing short of spectacular. I can't thank you enough.

Red eye I'm going to do that very guy. I love his brow something about that Mylar edge that emphasizes a sinister quality. The top close up b&w. His right cheek under his ear, sideburn area. I have tried to line up the helmet to that image and it seems that it is longer and more angular there.

Does any one know who owns that helmet?

Thank you and you are welcome.

Now are you talking about the helmet from the guy wearing the ranking on his chest?
All the helmets came out of the same mold and forming machine. Different cuts were made as the filming progressed to help the actors see better but nothing else was different.
