Since I am now trying for a better than normal (at least my work) on the first and last step of chroming I have found a painter (pro) that will be helping me. We have to get set up on timing, but that is all we have to do. A large amount, (everything on the bench) is going out in a day or two, and then we will be on a roll to get things chromed quick, and out the door. Including 80sKid William Cylon armour, when he buys a set to get chromed.

Want size boot do you wear. I recenlty bought up a large about of screen used boots. Most of them were used on Buck Rogers, but when I first saw this one pair of boots I thought they might have been Cylon boots. They weren't, but are very close, just to small. They aren't in the best of shape, but they could past as Cylon boots.

Would the German BSG Boots work? They look very similar.

It all depends on the acurate look you going for. If 1:1 acurate look is what your looking for, then no they won't match up, but they are close, so close enough might be what you have in mind. If you need some Cylon boots, I have a pair painted and ready to ship. They are size 11 Georgia Biker Boots.

Hi Dale, hi Chris D,

How is the armour connected to the boots on your replicas and/or originals?

Thanks, Patrick

The armor Velcros around the boot with chrome tape to hide the seam. Mine fits a bit lose, so I put some foam padding in side to help secure it from flopping around.

Can't seem to find any Georgia Engineer Boots out there for sale.

I have found these on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Classic- ... enameZWDVW
What is the general consensus (Dale feel free to chip in here)?

Your welcome, and 1:1 comparison they are the best you will get by todays standard. The really only true difference is the materials used. More man made in todays boot, compared to the 1978 boot. Harder to get paint to adhere to the surface is the problem, try steal wool in the painted areas before you paint them.

Thanks - appreciate the suggestion.

When I finally get there I will truly appreciate the end result. There is so much effort in trying to reproduce an accurate cylon.

But that is half the fun :)

BUMP to the boots thread!

I've been to www.georgiaboot.com and I don't see any new offering that is that close to a Cylon's boot. Actually I don't see hardly any black boots - unless they are the lace up style.

It would seem that we Cylon builders are stuck trying to find them on eBay or go to a similar style, but a different brand, huh?

EDIT: I have just found a pair if your feet are larger... (US Size 13 on eBay) They look good, and are only at a current bid of $15.

ANOTHER EDIT: I found these too - they might fit me (I wear about an 11, but was does EEE stand for?)
