Back pack disk ID

Post by GoldCylon » Wed Dec 27, 2006 9:30 pm

On the back of the Cylon back pack is a black disk. I was told this disk is a impression from a knob selector from a washing machine, or maybe a dryer. Now here is the challenge. Can anyone ID the make or brand of the washing machine.

I spent a few hours one day looking this up without luck. I searched for images of machines from the 60s to late 70s... no luck!

Rats :(

yeah I did the same a few years ago. Just the problem is that there isn't many images from machines back then.

Exactly - so - everyone run right now to your washers and dryers and take photos of the knobs and buttons! We have to be pro-active for any future costume needs - HA!

So...

What purpose do you think that disk had... as in... for the Cylon Centurion character? Was it some sort of access port/vent/switch/rank marking ?????

I know there is nothing in the show that says or suggests what it is. I was just wondering. HEY - MAYBE we can as "The Father Creator" ;) at ComicCon next year?

I don't think it was planned to do anything except be there. Like an older car with a hood ornament. It just looked cool.

I agree. Most of the technical "gadgetry"-stuff used on the costumes were just added to emphasize the futuristic look of it. If they had the time and money, they might had explained it more precisely.

Yeah, like most of all the stuff in the show - it looked cool and use it for some detail... but like you said Red Eye it would be cool to have a "why" for each item. Like they do with Star Trek Technical books, etc.
