Count Baltar in traditional slendor! My newest Painting
Count Baltar!
This oil on linen painting is done in the Renaissance style where men of power were depicted in full ceremonial armor. I used Baltar's familiar green uniform as his under suit and his famous helmet from the episode "Living Legend".,
I'm sure many of you will appreciate the attention to details such as his modified green suit and the choice of gold for his armor. I do plan to tweak the helmet a bit as it is not quite there yet. I will have some prints available to a few people who have already expressed interest in it. Let me know what you guys think.

Love it! It is simply pefect. Wonderfully creative.
And, yes, you may send the admin of your favorite forum - ever - a free print! heehee
Seriously, that is SO cool. *bows down* to yet another talent from Hand-Schaub. Armor smith, actor, Renaissance master.
When you are done with it don't forget a nice big "foofoo" Renaissance worthy frame.

Thanks for all the kind words. This painting was actually fun to do because I knew there would be a select few who could really appreciate what I was trying to do. I mean the only character bold enough to do sucha n egotistical portrait would be Baltar. Plus it was neat to paint Colicos as well.
Imperious leader... do I smell a commission??

Cool!... I must admit that painting these pop culture things in a traditional manner is very gratifying. I am making paintings for my 'one man' show in November but who could resist a fun commission!?

Sounds great, post up some pics of the art or show when it happens. It would be great to see more of your paintings.
