Ok I read all 9 pages and I have two questions,
1 Why is Chrisd Banned
and 2 What Vocoder did Peter Berkos use?

Banned users have been removed from the Cylon Empire and escorted off the Basestar... their actions brought this upon themselves. Cylon justice is swift.

As the thread said, Peter's not even really sure now... It was a VMS something... I'm sure any of the VMS models could probably do the job if you did the settings correctly.
Whatever it was, it is totally useless for an "on-the-fly" application for anyone trooping as a Cylon. A modern-day mimic needs to be developed. Some digital and self-contained Cylon voice dream machine

Thanks Centerion,
I just wondered because it appeared he started that thread and seemed to be quite knowledgeable about the Vocoders.
Sometimes our passion gets the best of us I guess.
So if it was a VMS somthing then it is probably the german machine everybody thought it was in the begining!
and I agree with you ....A portable device is needed!....
Thanks for the quick reply

We have had some delays but rest assured that myself and my engineer on on the path to cracking the spot on portable on in helmet voice changer with eye warble. we have a solid direction and know we can do it. it's just a matter of the right programing and finding the time to fit it in. I hope to have the solution to offer up to my cylon brethren by end of year. I know that's a long time but we are struggling to get our schedules to work together. But we are confident that we will be able to deliver a product that will make everyone happy.

You Go Centerion! .....Booooyeee!......
I read all 9 pages last night and it was like reading a story!....I started to get all excited about all the progress and discussions about which vocoder was the real deal, and the guy's who did the voice and the tech who put it all together, and then......just like BSG TOS the series seemed to be canceled!
I will be monitoring this thread with great Cylonious!
(I just made that word up!....Just now!)

I just sent an email yesterday to an acquaintance of mine who makes vocoders. I got a response just now in regards to my query if he has ever considered doing one for us and he said he has already slated it for his next one
more news as I get it..

I have slated some other projects I might possibly be doing in the future. I think it would be cool to do a cylon helmet

To do it right I would need a completed helmet to use as a reference..

The problem with Vocoders you need to be a electronics, and audio engineer to have a 100% understanding how to make them, or at least as a electronic design engineer someone that is an audio expert that can guide the engineer ob how o go about achieving the desired sound of like a Cylon. It just isn't going to be a easy job.
