Details to give on a helmet build

I have been working on about 5 helmets the past few months, and today I decided to show of some of the details I think many people miss when they build there armor pieces up. The photo below helmet half that I came back to. I put under a magnifying glass, and took note of scratches I haven't note with the naked eye, but a chromed finished helmet sure would explode these defects. My camera can hardly see these defects so what I did to help assist me in moving on to 800 grit sand paper I used black marker pen. Now I know where to go and sand, and once all the black marks are gone I'll wash, and dry the helmet and take I hope one last look.
Just a little help for those that want a mirror finish, or a higher lust factor on the reflection.
I posted a video in the media section. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=980

Two of them belong to others, and I am building up a parts surplus to arm up the Empire. One will be a gold one. Why don't your plans include have 5 Cylons around?

I would like to do a Gold one "someday" ... and I told my wife I'd make her a pink one ;)

I wish I knew locals who would do a Cylon build too, my friends that live around me are LAME! LOL

Pink???....Well that is perfect to get my g/f involved, if she liked pink...I'll have to do up a purple one to match that idea.
Well if it wasn't for meeting Brian 1 year ago I'd have no local buddies that were cool in the Cylon world. So it is fun now, and we do Gary the Cylon shows now also. :nah: :cylongold:

Hello everyone,
I was actually thinking of doing a green one (my van is painted dragon green metallic). Or maybe a woodland camo.

All cool, but lets not get "all star wars" on this - i.e. different paint decos on the same suit - I like this forum the best because most people are purists, and respect the original designs, ...... that put of the way ----- a woodland camo chromed suit would be f-kn cool looking!

Hello everyone,
With my last post, I was trying to throw ideas out. Anyhow,
For now I am thinking of just doing a helmet. The rest can come later. I am trying to decide to go with gold or silver. I have seen the mouth grill black and silver, what would be the difference? I know the plating process is expensive, Has anyone used the rub-N-buff kind of paint?

This is intresting..

Command Centurions :cylongold: - Gold body armor - are "correct" (per 1978 TV show) with black mouth grills.

Centurions :cylon: - Chrome body armor - are "correct" (per 1978 TV show) with gun metal gray mouth grills.

... a special force Centurion would be cool. Red would be neat, sort of like SW Royal Guards.
I think a gloss black Centurion would be neat too... stealth! ;)

A high gloss black Cylon would look great.
