I think he is a member already, but not 100% sure. I know some members have done business with him in the past. Sorry a bit vague about this, but the posting is more to inform that weapons left has just about doubled in a piece count from what was know before. I'll pass along information as permitted.

Very interesting...
I'd also like to see a few pics as well.
I hope your pal decides to post a few, if he's a member of this forum already.
If not, why not encourage him to join us?

Y'know, please forgive my ignorance on the matter, and perhaps I don't know all the facts, but I guess my brain isn't wired a certain way -- I seriously don't understand why people hoard these pictures and don't share with the rest of the community that have an equal or greater love for these things than they do. What do they have to gain by keeping it to themselves? They do no good to anyone sitting in a shoe box sharing space in a dark closet with dust bunnies and daddy's old golf club set. If anything, it only raises their prestige and appreciation level in the community to show these off, which in the long run is its own reward. If they're directly involved with a show's production and under an NDA, that's a different story - but that is clearly not the case here. If I had access to such things, I would be damn near pissing my pants to drive home, breaking various speed laws, including Einstein's special theory of relativity, scan in the photos and dumping the whole lot online for all to see, because I know you would all want to see them!
Am I missing something about any of this or misunderstood what's going on? Seriously...honestly...this pisses me off.

YES! YES! YES! 100% agree. I am from "the show me state" and ironically that is firmly engrained in my head.
I don't get the hush, hush either! That would be like the Musee du Louvre saying, "Yeah that Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci... We own it, but don't want to show it to you." ... ?!

I understand your point clearly 137th, but when I am instructed not to share I have to do as told, or risking be cut off contact by the individuals that share these photos with me. Trust me if I could I would publish 100's of photos, and other files that are shared with me that haven't been seen by just a small hand full.
In case those aren't aware I broke the mold in sharing BSG related photos. I posted over 500 photos that the guys at Apogee took while building the filming models, Cylon's, Land Ram, and many other photos. Doing that I made the choice of turning my back to others that never ever wanted these photos to see the light of day, so they could profit off the sell of these photos. I took that opportunity of profit away, over the giving the fans what they wanted to see that at the time they didn't even know they existed. During that time frame of these photos being discovered by many people in a very short time I had a astronomical amount of hits per day, and with that I knew I pleased many more people than I angered. So as I type this do I regret sharing photos at any time? The answer is NO, and no regrets, but when to share and when not has always played into the equation of what to do. Looking past the now, or into the future. Will the quick buck come fast and easy, and gone forever. or slow and steady and reap the benefits of doing as instructed to share an other day. I choose the ladder to profit all in gifts of information, photos, and other items as I am allowed. Bitter or sweet I have made the choice that is not just best for me, but for all so I can be that source people look to time to time. I have been know to share in private a photo or two, and that isn't a call for email request to send me the photos please call.

Don't get me wrong, GC, I'm not taking shots at you, in fact, I applaud you for maintaining your honor in the face of a clearly untenable situation. My problem is more with those other people, like the ones who instructed you not to release the photos for whatever reason. Those are the people I have a problem with. And I really don't have a problem with them knowing it. If they have the courage of their convictions to debate the situation publicly (not as a PM sparring match) and claim any other reason than making a profit then let's hear it from them. Most of the time, they would rather be cowards and not defend such an indefensible position, as there really is no justifiable reason for such behavior other than pure self-interest. I've seen that small-minded profit-oriented mentality cause flame wars and bad blood where it was never necessary. If I'm wrong, like I said, let's hear it from them. My ego is not so fragile if I'm given a legitimate argument that I won't concede a point. Somehow, though, I doubt they'll be able to find a good way to rationalize this. And from the looks of things from other posts here, I'm not the only one who is frustrated with that behavior.
Again, GC, none of my comments are in any way directed towards you.

Well put 137th Gebirg... and yes, GoldCylon is a BSG HERO! *hooray* His way is the way to go. Share and help spread the BSG love and knowledge. Can't hurt any, all you get is more Cylon pals.
And yes, if the owner asked you not to post stuff GoldCylon, then kudos for keeping your word. You are a Cylon worth his metal
137th Gebirg, do you feel that "those" who hoard stuff might be telling white lies? Doesn't that make you really REALLY doubt their claims of their items even being screen used? It does to me. Sure it could be - that's totally possible.
But it could be that know the "real" owner of item "X" - because I used to work with his brother's uncle's sister's roommate.

lol

137th I didn't take the comment at all on a personal level, but I was just explaining to those that might not be aware of the things I have done in the past, present, and future sharing photos. I also believe because of my photo sharing that others have begun to share a few also. Even to go as far as buying rights to post them to share with any, and all. I do what I can, when I can and sometimes I feel I push the envelope a bit more than I should have, and that doesn't change the fact of your comment about sharing. All I can say to defend these people that make that choice is that they have a reason, and sometimes they don't have a choice in the matter. Just because they have a photo that was shared with me, doesn't make it OK to share with the world. The photo of the rifles on the other hand were taken by the person that supplied the photo, but what if it was given to him by someone else that wasn't supposed to have it or say share it. It would be traced back to the person it was given to. I am have this a few times, edit a photo that isn't supposed to be out in public, so if it is spotted out there I know who it made it out there from who I gave it to. Trust me I will continue to bring photos and share them as they make there way to me as allowed.

I'm not sure. I'm more thinking it's something a little more simple - and base. I'm thinking it's generally an ego/control trip. When someone has something that other people want, they can do one of two things with it - they can either hand it over or hold it over their heads. It can even sometimes give them an adrenaline rush of real power and control over people, making them jump through hoops, pretending to be little puppet masters. I'm not saying that's what's going on in this particular case, I'm just saying it does happen, and to varying extremes.

Roger that, GC. I definitely didn't want to cause any bad blood between you and I over this whole topic - that was honestly my greatest concern with my comments. Just something I feel strongly about, I guess.
And many thanks for being the "tip of the spear" out there for all us other folks who don't have any real in-roads and contacts to speak of. I do feel that you are an honorable man and I certainly don't want my soapbox shenanigans to make you feel pressured into breaking your word to someone else. I just generally perceive selfishness in those who don't want to share in things like this and it irks me. I get the owner-of-an-owner argument, and that is a situation that I hadn't taken into account on my original rant. In general, though, especially when dealing with the original owners of such materials - the ones who make the initial mandates of exclusivity - I simply believe that when you feel passionate about something and you know of the existence of others who share the same passion and interest, why make the conscious decision to tell people "I have something you want", and make them bend knee and beg for a taste? That's exactly why I made all those schematics free and clear to everyone on the net. I'm a $75-an-hour professional graphics artist and web developer and the TOS Galactica alone is probably worth around $10,000 alone, not including the other orthos I did in recent months. Those diagrams were a labor of love and I wanted the whole community to share in something I cared a lot about who had the same interests, instead of making a tidy profit off the exploitation of others' wants. I guess it's an alien concept for me to think otherwise.
Oh, well...just looking forward to seeing what emerges from all this. Either way, however it turns out, thank you again for finding and collecting these things. We can only hope that they will, one day, be revealed.

I guess the main reason I spoke up about this find was to inform the members that more weapons that original thought. I am not sure of what the count was on screen used weapons left, but personally I am only aware of about 12 total in the rifle world. Not just Cylon, but all rifles from the show. I am sure there are more, but a positive count that I have had is the 12. This alone pushed the count up to 18. That alone is a major piece count in the inventory of weapons, but a far cry from the 60 or so that were originally made. As soon as I get the OK to publish any photos on this subject they will be up that day.

Hopefully, some of them will show up on future auctions at Profiles in History...
