Great idea with the flickering engine lights!

They also did it on the Starfighters in "Buck Rogers"...

:cylon: Not yet a video, but a pic for those interested toasters out there.......And the second picture is the clear mold Colonial pilot head. I am taking a 1mm yellow LED and placing it inside. Once painted -- thoroughly, so there is no light bleed through -- I am hoping to create a scratch line in the appropriate spots for a helmet that is lighted. :cylon:

:cylon: I have taken some video with my camera and am waiting to get it converted....In the mean time, here are some still pics of the completed, working circuit. The shot inside the viper is merely for fitting purposes...nothing is permanently attached or installed. :cylon:

:cylon: Thank you, guys. Actually, the film is running at double speed. The video capture actually slowed down the look of the flicker to about half. So, you are seeing what it looks like in real time, but the film is sped up. I don't know....just my goofy camera.... :cylon:

:cylon: Here is the progress on my lighted viper pilot helmet. Use of a simple small (2mm?) LED with a standard 150 v resistor. The work isn't done and there is touch up painting to do in order to hide the very minute light leaks that still remain (and for simple finishing). :cylon:

:cylon: Here is a set of photos detailing the further lighting of the viper pilot. This little guy has some kind of electronic (experts on this board would know...LOL!) attached to his leg. It was just begging to have lighting. Two strands of 1mm fiber optic seem to do the job. As to colors, probably a red and green? Anyway, I am please with the progress. To light the pilot specifically, I drilled two holes in the cockpit; one in the back to allow for the LED leads on his head and one under his right leg to allow passage of the fiber optic pieces...Hope you like.... :cylon:
