I am not a Dr Who fan, but have watched a few episodes, but then I saw the Cybermen I was set to watch a bit more of these guys are the first thing that came to mind was they have that Cylon like finish of silver. They even have that vocorder voice like sound that helps. Any one else like the look of these guys?

I've never gotten into Dr. Who either, the Cyberman isn't my "fav" of all robots, no. However, the more I look at it - it is growing on me.
They don't have a chrome/silver finish like classic Cylons - but look a lot like RDM's Battlestar Galactica's Centurions.
I've not heard their voices... maybe there is a vid of them on YouTube?

Cool. They seem a lot like the Borg.

When I was looking at the under suit I was thinking the same thing. The tubing running in the folds of the knees, elbow, and tummy section 100% Borg look a like.

Yeah, and their character too - wanting to "upgrade" others --- worse than being killed by them, etc.

Dale I know a few guys in the garrison currently working on a cyberman costume. Cybermen are great (nearly as Good as the DALEKS) and had been updated for the new doctor who. Last year at LFCC there was a Doctor Who exhibition in the next hall and a Cyberman visited us. I managed to get a few shot of him.. Enjoy
I dont think my Cylon belly could ever fit in the costume though..
Hay you want to see my old Dalek i used to own???

I really like Doctor Who, it's amazing that this show is on the air for over 40 years...
I'm also planning to build a replica of the Cyberman-costume which were featured in the 80's-era of the classic series in the near future as well...
It will be look like this, for all who aren't familiar with Doctor Who:

That 80's version looks just a bit tad hard to do with all that undersuit work compared to the newer version. I'd love to see your photos of the build when you get around to it.

Awesome photos, and one heck of a Dalek. What was the device used to do the live convert of the voice? I take it you sold him since you no longer own him?

Yea I sold the Dalek about 2 years ago. I had owned it for about 3 years. I had done a few troops with it and also showed it at the town carnival. The voice mod was a portable ring modulator powered by the electric wheel chair base that was also fitted in it.
Check this site out for Daleks, there really popular in the UK.

I'll gladly share the pics of the build with all of you, if the project will be realized in the foreseeable future.
I agree, the undersuit of the Cyberman would be the hardest part to acheive in an screen-accurate form. They're similarities for both the Cyberman- and the Centurion-costume in this aspect as well. So it looks like they have more in common as most of you might have thought.
I'd also like to know what kind of suit they've actually used on the costume. I've read in another forum that the undersuit is an old Royal Navy flight-suit just painted silver. Can anyone here verify this?

I've just received a pair of canadian mukluks, the same type of lace-up boots used by the Cybermen in the 80's era of Doctor Who. The same style of boots where also used for the Snowtrooper costumes in "The Empire strikes back", by the way. They're quite difficult to find now, so I think I've made a good bargain with them.
There's also a very detailed and screen-accurate Cybersuit available on eBay at this time which I intend to buy.

So as you see, another project has begun...
