Regarding to the site www.comicscontinuum.com, Dynamite Entertainment plans to release comic books based on the unloved sequel series of the original, "Galactica 1980":

Re: Galactica 1980 comic books... coming in September
The artwork was ok; would've been better done in the style of Berni Wrightson speaking personally.
The concept of the Colonials speaking Aramaic is terrific.
But thats it. What a stupid story. I just don't buy the whole plot about Adama taking the Galactica to Earth and hovering over The White House....just like that without any study or prep. The Doctor Zee character was just daft; I prefered having the villain as Xavier ala the TV version. In fact, I actually think they should have reworked the plot of the 3-part Galactica Discovers Earth but made it more logical and adult. And, the whole thing ends with a caption for Galactica 1981 whichdoesn't seem to have been done.
I also thought it utterly stupid having a bunch of Colonial civilians being sent as na invasion force by a power-crazed Zee; engaging in fisticuffs in Washington DC. They also throw away Baltar, Lucifer and the whole Cylon threat. Would it not have been better to leave the Cylons out of this first story and just dealt with the handling if Earth as a paranoid and techologically backward planet (when compared to the Colonials)?
Leave the Cylon threat to a followup adventure instead of cluttering up the main plot which would have been better fleshed out explored in greater detail. A missed opportunity.
