Starlog ends it run.

This isn't fan fiction, but this section will do. The first magazine that I purchased as a kid and followed every month was the Starlog magazine. They were the in most part the single source of a monthly that we as kids loved to read and see each and every week. The time has come with sales off that the printed version is closing their doors. For a while the online version will stay up and running. Thanks Starlog for the memories, and the good times. I still have all my originals I bought.

Totally agree, I love Starlog! I work at a printing company and we printed Starlog for awhile a few years ago. I "overheard" that they were a credit risk and did some moving around from printer to printer - seem odd for such a good mag. Maybe some new ownership made a few mistakes and their luck finally ran out???

Sad to see it go, Always a great book PACKED with info.

I loved Starlog back in the 1970's. Farewell to a Sci-Fi legacy.

Sad to hear this iconic magazine is folding. Unfortunately may people are no longer buying printed media.

I know that cost, availabilty and storage concerns has veered me away from mags in recent times. Sadly other SF related magazines are likely to go this way as many of their readers would be voracious users of the net.

I was the Art Director for a Horror / B-Movie magazine for a few years, it recently ceased too. Advertisers cutting back, reduces the cash flow to the publisher, can't cover the print and mailing costs, start to lose money and then GONE.

Anyone like Horror / B-Movie stuff? Want some magazines about them? I have quite a few copies of several issues of the magazine I did. If you'd be interested let me know. I've thought about throwing them away... I can't really keep 12 copies of everything forever. I'm running out of storage.

Hey that would be cool to have a few copies of that stuff. You can also place a add in the junk yard section to sell it or give them away, or what ever your doing to move them.

Love those Starlog magazines.
I've got a few with the classic Battlestar Galactica series. :)
Found older additions in very good condition at a used book store where I live. ;)
I sure snatched those up in a hurry!

This is sad news ; I used to buy Starlog back in the late '70s (started with their first Buck Rogers cover) and stopped sometime in the late '80s. It would seem that the website is also gone now.
