Okay, so I have a copy of this cylon concept art from the 1978 show I found online (link).
I noticed the undersuit is green... that got me thinking.
I looked around online and found the original designer of the '78 Cylon is Andrew Probert. I looked him up and found this GREAT article on Cylons - it even has a photo of prototype 1978 Cylon armor - including part of an armored boot! (Link)
(Link - Be sure to check out this GREAT article!)
Oh, I just noticed at the end of the article there is a link to another article about the BSG: Razor "classic" Cylons.

Well sometimes (most) the concept art colors aren't used, and to tell you the truth I am glad it wasn't green. I do have that art drawing (well maybe not posted) someplace. It has been around a long time, ever since the release I have seen that drawing. Just a large file of it hasn't been seen yet, at least I don't recall seeing a full image scan of it.
Great that Darth Mojo had a little in with Probert, since those two did the work for Galactica. Probert the original series, and Darth Mojo the CG in Razor, and the other episodes of Galactica.

SiR-ROUND, here is what I was talking about of the boot. It would seem the concept sketch started to be realized as a prototype:SiR-ROUND wrote:Can't seem to find it?
Yes, it would be odd to see a green undersuit on a copper-ish Cylon! I wonder how the green undersuit turned to purple? Maybe a game of darts? lolGoldCylon wrote:Well sometimes (most) the concept art colors aren't used, and to tell you the truth I am glad it wasn't green.
