Undersuit pattern?

Post by nashslash » Thu Oct 23, 2008 11:30 am

I was just wondering. Does anyone who owns an original undersuit have the pattern to it. Or does anyone have a pattern to the original undersuit. I own a replica costume but really would like a more authentic undersuit.

What would it take to get a pattern made if you are one of the lucky ones who owns an original undersuit? Surely an original could or has been taken to a seamstress and a pattern could be made without the need to disassemble it?

The most important part of the costume is the undersuit, if there was a pattern for it then I'm sure many more completed cylons could be found.

I have the patterns, but not in hand. They aren't easy to post via the size (real size) Most of what is need is the patch work, and rib location and count of ribs. The body suit is most;y made to fit, and a view reference pics.

GoldCylon... I have my own web space I could host the images on (even large file size). I can also boost my email to allow you to send them with no issue.

Let me know if I can help. I would like to have a pattern - something to work on - since all I have of my Cylon suit now is a buch of "want!" lol

The main problem is that you can't print these items out. A massive size of paper is needed is what the problem is. I have more than enough space on my site to host the images, just how does one print out a page as big as a person? Yes cutting the parts up in to the single patch work helps, but a single leg patch takes about 5 81/2 * 11 pages of paper.

That sounds like a good idea. Just tile them onto many pages, yep. I've got the paper - no problem :P

There is a program called pattern maker. You load the pattern into the program and it can print it out onto normal A4 printer paper... then you just stick all the numbers pieces together.

a free 30 day trial is enough to print out the pattern....

My guess is that there might also be a free program able to do this.

But indeed a trial (if all features enabled) will work.

I was looking for ages for a pattern maker a little while ago, and this was the only 1 I found. Unless someone knows any difference? Maybe torrent?

Depending on the file format, etc. Most applications can tile a print job automatically. I know Acrobat/Reader will do that if you have a PDF.

If nothing else, I'd just go use the nice big printers for banners at Kinkos! These patterns would be enormously helpful.

What about some hi quality photos of the pattern until we can find a way to convert them into a file. So that everyone has access to them... and can print there own out.

Yeah... the pattern would really help!

I'm not doing an uber accurate cylon BUT i do want it to come as close as I can without making the project a nightmare.

Looks like this has gone dead so I'll prop it back up.
Has anything been done about placing the pattern up for all to download or sending out via email ?
Im getting ready to have one made and it would be much easier for the seamstress if I could supply her with a pattern.
