I grew up with these truly unique figures. They are smaller versions, bought from the Takara company and reissued in 9 inch size figures with accessories.
I restored both figures and customised them, adding extra components.
The Cyborg required a replacement elastic band for the waist joint, so I used mechanical component springs instead.
I Also added fishing line and clothing label ties for internal wiring.
I replaced the lower left leg with part of the D.F Android mechanical leg accessories. (I took the left foot for the Android figure).
The original Liquidator weapon is added to the arm, both components I painted gold, using acrylic metallic paint with clear sealant to finish. I also clear coated the other internal gold components to protect the finish. ( with time, vacumetalised items lose their colour and surface without protection from the atmosphere)
The screws on this figure are covered with plastic plug inserts, so these need extracting in order to access the screw heads.
The Android figure needed the arm and leg joints replacing and some of the silver finish restoring.
Plastic screw joints had broken off leaving the Stubbs inside the torso, so I had to remove these before replacing them with parts from the mechanical leg accessories.
Using a soldering iron, I melted slots into the stub ends and using a screwdriver extracted them. (If they hadn't loosened, it would have been necessary to drill them, then remove the pieces. Not ideal, because some of the thread may be removed or damaged!)
I drilled the rivets in the shoulder joints to remove the broken thread fixtures and replaced them, then put back the rivets, supergluing them. (Just enough glue to hold the rivets in place, not too much or it would run through the joint and stop the arm moving)Then, using two part epoxy resin, I filled the rivet stubs and blended in with the shoulders.
The plastic leg joint housings broke up when I dismantled the thigh sections. (Grey plastic inserts that housed the black "T" shaped pivots at the top of the thighs.-Surprising this crumbled, as the rest of the grey plastic material of the joint screws on the figure was fine!)
I used 5mm plastic tubing to secure the leg joints, fitting the tubing over the pivot and wedging the tubing ends into the slots in the thigh moulding.
I added silver pistons to the thighs, securing them on the thread fixtures.
I repainted the chest unit and the circuit part of the head with metallic silver, along with the pistons I put in the thighs.
I decided to repaint the rest of the head with black enamel to match the body and give a unique look.
The epoxy fills on the shoulders are also painted back to blend in with the arms.
The left foot was missing, so I took the left foot from the Cyborg figure and repainted it black and used it as a replacement.
Fortunately, most of the parts I needed for replacement were found on the Android accessory legs!

I've not heard of these figures before but they look nice.
Are they from any certain show/movie, etc.?

No, these are retro 1975 figures, British versions of Japanese 12 inch figures, produced by the Denys Fischer company. The Japanese Henshin Cyborgs have comic book stories, I believe.
