Oh man! Sorry to hear of the issues you had from all sides on the 3D version.
Your current one looks great to me, the finish is very nice and it looks like it is buit very well. None of the chains are going to come apart, etc. Glad to see all the photos of it!

Apologies if I've already posted this someplace else. Here's the "before" pic. I pick it up from being altered at the tailor to move the cloak fasteners and take in the trousers a couple of sizes since I lost weight. This is with the Katarra8 (Etsy) medallion of course.

Sadly there isn't a lot of checker braid left anywhere. I just spent an ungodly amount on 24 yards of black and silver, overkill for the 18 yards I'm told I will need for Apollo's dress blues. Then the race will be on to see whether I can make a silver version of the medallion.
