We know from various sources that (in spite of some fan theories) Count Iblis's crashed ship was never supposed to be the Pegasus. In the War of the Gods novelization, the ship is described as so large that it would dwarf a battlestar the same way a battlestar dwarfs a Viper, and Apollo calls it "an immense ship of unfamiliar design."
In the script for Part 1, Glen Larson suggested using the twisted structural pieces from the crash aftermath in Universal's 1975 film The Hindenburg to represent Iblis's ship. Instead, to make sure it would be seen as futuristic but different in design from a battlestar, the set designers used pieces left over from the Universal TV-movie Brave New World (telecast in 1980), which they altered to simulate crash damage. This Facebook post includes images of some of those circular and cylindrical pieces as they appeared in Brave New World and as parts of Iblis's ship. Some of the large round doorway units would also be repainted and reused in episodes of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

Excellent info! SO COOL. Prop re-use is so fun to spot and document.
I never heard of "Brave New World" before ... it is now must-see-TV!
I always thought the Count's ship was akin to the Ship of Lights. Something large and unkown like it was, and super crazy powerful - of course. Except for the crashing part.

Awesome!!! Thank you for the link. Added to my watch later list. I just watched up to the Gamma's but have to get to sleep.
Boy, they didn't spend much money or effort on the intro/credits sequence. lol
I'll be watching it for sure. Love the 1980s goodness.

Maybe it wasn't Iblis's ship but that of his cloven hoofed disciples? He probably commandeered it with his force of will alone but what would the Seraphs want with a physical spaceship anyway?

Don't know, but if he needed a ship to escape from that planet, then maybe needing to travel that way was part of his punishment (although once he's been rescued by the Galactica and gained followers he seems to have the power of traveling anywhere at will). And he does refer to it once as "my ship."johnnybear wrote: ↑Sat Oct 22, 2022 1:45 pmMaybe it wasn't Iblis's ship but that of his cloven hoofed disciples? Re: Source materials for the Count Iblis ship
Iblis does seem to disappear from the Galactica when Apollo, Starbuck and Sheba go back to the planet when the fleet is about to leave the area and when we next see him he's standing upon the hill directing his wrath down upon the heroic trio! So he didn't need the confines of the alien spaceship at all but because they had given their allegiance to him thought that the vessel belonged to him as well as the souls of those unfortunates in the wreckage!
