Cylon eye question.
Hi Folks,
a quick question if you do not mind please?, i am doing to drill out the holes above the sweeping eye in my helmet to keep it original but i am not sure on what size of small drill to use, so with that in mind, does anyone know what if any specific size was used?.
Thank you for your time.
Regards.

Thank you sir, yes i had seen that thread a while back, he only mentions what size to make the template but doesn't say what size drill he used, so hence why i thought i might ask as i don't want to mess it up first go as i plan to use the same template.itookadooku wrote: ↑Tue Sep 18, 2018 10:22 amIm not sure if this will help, but look at the 4th post down.

Ohh... what size ARE the original salt-n-pepper holes!?! What a GREAT QUESTION.
Come on you screen used helmet members, can you help out?
This is just the super-fan-boy kind of micro-detail info that By Your Command.net needs to have on file!

Re: Cylon eye question.
So I printed the template to the size mentioned on the highest possible resolution my printer will go (5760 x 1440) a great printer for photo's but no good compared to modern printer resolutions.
As far as I can tell measuring the dot from edge to edge using a micrometre is 0.788mm (0.8mm drill bit) , but don't take my word for it... try it yourself to be sure.

Re: Cylon eye question.
Thanks, i am very grateful of the support for my question, since i was able to get hold of a set of armour from Bentley O tool i have been trying to make it as authentic as i can, i have always loved Cylon's since i saw them as a kid so when i was able to buy a set of armour, i wanted to make it as accurate as i could so this was just a logical step in the process, i do admit that i am not the quickest builder but i like to take my time and do a job right, when i can that is.
i do hope that someone can help in time, as it would be awesome to get this little vague detail right.
Thank you for all your support and encouragement.

You managed to get a set from Bentley o tool! Wow, from what I've seen that is a nice set and in fiberglass no less.
I hope it didn't take too long to get it, plus the fact that you have it.
That one was a bit out of my price range for the time being.
I'm sure it will be a top notch set once finished.

Re: Cylon eye question.
Without measuring them, looking at my screen used head, they appear to be about 1/16" little holes.
