Here is the start of my other robot builds, I'm working on one of each of a bb8 and a bb9e.
I'm hoping to get my 3d printer soon a cr10s which should help out immensely.
So far the builds have been items purchased through the jakku junkyard of the bb8 builders club until I'm up and running.

WOW-o-WOW
Love them!!
What are you plans for them? Fully operational lights, sounds, drive system, etc. Or just static epic 1:1 bots?

Re: Bb8 and bb9e build
I would like to have both full working units, but as these run at about 4KUSD each for full spec units I might just do the bb9e hopefully for the next premiere.
I'm looking to maybe do a slightly budget build bb8 which may be ok for general running around, hospital visits etc.
I currently have a spinmaster 1/2 size full working unit which is a great little run around and believe it or not my very first remote control toy.

Are they plastic or metal skins? (Either way, so cool!)

Re: Bb8 and bb9e build
They are all 3d printed plastic, one club member is looking at injection molded plastic rubber, but the set up costs are quite expensive.
