I loved the first series of Space 1999 and the changes in the second series were very hard to accept for a long time! Especially when you heard that Nick and Zienia (Alan Carter and Sandra Benes) weren't going to be in it either and that it was only Fred Freiberger's daughter who liked Alan that kept him on the show!
I'm not sure what I felt about Galactica 80s cast changes as I never really got to see the show on TV till about 1984 and I'd already read about the loss of the original team in the pages of StarLog!

Agree, in both SPACE:1999 and BSG the second season story and setting [ 1999 new Alpha sets and BSG on Earth ] changes would have been much better if the first season casts were kept intact. We might have seen a third season if they had not changed the casts.johnnybear wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 10:22 amI loved the first series of Space 1999 and the changes in the second series were very hard to accept for a long time! You are so right that SPACE:1999 second season was hurt by the limited episodes with Sandra Benes and the unexplained missing Victor Bergman, Paul Morrow, Kano.

So true, Steve! The first episode was a bit of a jolt especially to me as I saw it on first transmission in 76 and I hate to admit this but turned over half way to watch Doctor Who on the other side!
