That's the one. Just like the evil Peter Parker in "Night of the Clones."

Well, 10 episodes into Logan's Run now and I haven't seen a story arc yet. Episodes 2-10 could have been shown in any order and made just as much (or little) sense.

The answers are far far away amongst the stars. Movie stars most likely.

My final judgment on Logan's Run: no story arc. Every episode leaves the characters right back where they had been. But it was fun to see those guest stars in the last three episodes - Barbara Babcock, Nehemiah Persoff, Paul Carr - all well known to the likes of us.

Another interesting detail: apparently there are no brassieres in the future.

Doctor Who did it's first arc in the 1978-79 series with The Key to Time. After that there was The E-Space Trilogy (1980), The Return of the Master Trilogy (1981) and The Black Guardian Trilogy (1982-83) which was in effect a sequel to The Key to Time.

As for US TV bar the loose run in Planet of the Apes (1974-75) I'd say that BG was the first with extensive and more detailed arcs.

In the UK Blake's 7 (1977-81) had extensive arcs throughout it's run.

I'm actually thinking of a much looser definition of story arcs, such that Doctor Who would have fulfilled my idea of arcs way before 1970.

Well, an arc story is where threads carry over from one storyline to another. Doctor Who (1963-89) was a collection of serials each made up of between 2-14 individual 24 and a half minute episodes; the exception being the 1985 series which was 45 minute episodes and the serials were all two parters bar one which was a three parter.

The only true arcs classic DW had were those I mention above.

And I'm counting things like character arcs, which would include something like regenerations; also long-running and developing conflicts, such as between the Doctor and the Daleks.
