steampunk r2 unit

been thinking of an r2 unit for a while but I am a little limited on funds and I like to do something a little different.
At the NEC the weekend I saw a steampunk Vader helmet, so I was thinking a steampunk r2 would be an easier, quicker and cheaper build.
What do you think?

Sounds like a great idea! You could do so many creative steam powered twists to R2's design.

How about Happy Meal version that idea up. R2-Cylon into a rust bucket? OK....You idea sounds better.

Maybe after R2 - how about a Steampunk IL Series?!
...could do some cool "mech" stuff up under his clear head dome.
