Armour build

Post by Luke1978 » Mon Aug 19, 2013 11:42 am

Well I've just ordered my armour and now I have the painful long wait for it to arrive. Guess I should start trying to source the other bits and bobs too :)

Who did you order it from, and when do you expect it to arrive.

After a lot of deliberating I went with a C.O.R.A set. He said it will be posted out on Monday so looking at around two weeks hopefully.

Hmmm looking round for gloves on eBay and came across these - I know they are not 1:1 screen accurate but im debating getting them as I kind of like the shape of them.

the other closest ones I could find at a reasonable price are in the US

Hi Luke, both gloves look nice. Great finds that are surprisingly rather 1:1-ish for being a totally different brand. If you are trying to decide - remember the one set is already mostly black. Half the work is started. :)

Thanks CK. I'm leaning more towards the UK ones as if it all goes wrong it hasn't cost as much even if I have to buy some black colouring.

Just mooching through ideas and things while I'm waiting for my armour and I thought about the cylon voice. wondering if anyone has tried this:

http://www.electronics123.net/amazon/datasheet/bd43.pdf

Thinking the unit could be mounted in the body somewhere and then the push button cables extended down through the arms and into the gloves. Could mount them in the thumb and first one/two fingers in each glove. If the record quality is good enough could be cool to have set phrases "by your command" "extermination" etc. etc.

Just a thought.

Never heard of anyone using it, but it might worth a try...

Very cool idea. It would be neat to see it added to a suit, yes.

Grrrrr outbid in the last 7 seconds on my gloves. Gutted as I really liked that design. Best shop around some more :(

Found another set of potential gloves just not sure on the tops/cuffs. Just looking for some comments (again I know they are not 1:1 but I like the squareness of these)

Yeah tried to google a better pic but no real good ones. Just thinking they may not wrap round enough.

I have a pair of screen accurate gloves left if you need. They are in very good condition.
You must cut them down and paint them black.

I would let them go for 40

Thanks for the offer - any idea how much P&P to the UK might be?
