My first cylon project

Post by darthmiller » Wed Jan 02, 2013 8:37 pm

I have begun work on my first cylon!! I started this project about 3 years ago and never really got much done. Finally I have time to Work on this project. I am not real sure of the origins of this costume. Going to go with cosmochrome to make him all shiny.

Hello darthmiller and welcome to BYC.net!

Your project is looking GREAT, can't wait to see more. I see a mouth grill but not the helmet - still on the to do list?

Welcome aboard! What a great start so far.

It's possible your parts originating from the molds of the infamous Bentley O'Toole from down under.

I've got my armor from him, too (and actually received it).

I did confirm that the armor we molded was from Bentley O Toole. It was the first suit he pulled from his molds. Please note that the individual I got this from is a very trusted member of the prop community.

The suit was all fiberglass and we molded it several years ago. Just finally getting around to making my own suit. I am doing two full suits...one for me and my buddy

I got most of my parts primed today...used a two part urethane automotive primer. Next week I will start the cosmochrome process.

I will post a you tube video of this process later in the week...it's really amazing stuff.

I think we have one member here maybe two that was had by Bentley. If those members are still active here speak up please to ME in a PM.

Not to detract from your build, but I just wanted to mention this is this thread since the molds put a lot of money in Bentley's pocket at the cost of a member or two via not filling orders they place with Bentley for armor.

Now your build looks great. Do you have a under suit lined up?

Welcome on board.

Just so we are clear

I made a mold of his suit....I don't have his original molds

I do however have his first suit he pulled which we then molded a few years ago

If anyone on the boards was taken advantage of I would be happy to help them get a suit from my molds

Feel free to PM me
