Belt Question..

Post by Darth Clayton » Sun Aug 12, 2012 11:01 am

Hello all,

I know I haven't been around a whole lot, but I've had a rough 6+ months. My father passed away last November a week after my birthday and one day after my mom's birthday (day after Thanksgiving). In February I lost my job of 22 years plus all of my benefits due to cutbacks, but fortunately I found another job in April. But enough about my issues..

My question is about the sword belt. What was the width of it, and was there any type of special connector to attach the sword to the belt?

I have a Krop belt and the sword is attached to it, and the way they did it just flops around every where so I always have to keep my hand on it. plus I am trying to go more screen accurate..

Thanks in advance! :cylon:

Wow, that's serious! My deepest sympathy mate.

To your question: A simple plain black leather belt was used to hold up the scabbard with the buckle worn on the back. I'm not sure about the exact width, maybe GoldCylon will know.

A metal bracket attaches it to the belt:

Still looking for an answer to the belt width question

Also, I suppose you just turn the belt so the buckle is in the back?

Getting ready for DragonCon so just trying to fix a few things on my costume.. Got my new undersuit from Cordula (EXCELLENT) even though it was expensive. Got my new boots that I need to paint, add the vinyl to my gloves and touch them up a bit.

And I should be good to go!

You're right. The belt used to hung up the sword sheath was a plain black belt worn with the buckle to the back, like you said.

Congrats on getting your undersuit! Hope you like it. Please post some photos when you can.

Same here. I have a normal belt and the buckle is behind the skirt. Thats it.
Happy hunting at DC :-)
