Yes a whole forward section is missing from the model. Often modellers would have to buy two models to make this more accurate or fabricate a whole section. There where several reasons for this section missing a) Disney refused accurate plans to be released to the model company b) keeping the costs down on production c) keeping the length down. Unfortunaty several models 'scratch built' have used the mpc model as a template only to realise after completion that a section is missing. Plus the model kit was inaccurate on many more things... probably on reflection this was udoubtably the worst kit they ever produced

Here's another image I found (not my work) and this shows the added accurate forward section inplace.

Awesome! Hope the Cygnus won't be changed too much in the remake...

Totally agree with you on that one..it'll probably be all CGI and look terrible.

I have that kit in my model stash. It was one of my "grail" kits I always wanted and I finally found one. Even though partially started, it's in the collection. Might get round to it some day, though I plan on opening up the latticework windows and detailing it out.

It will be awhile though. I am currently building my 1/6 scale NuGalactica Cylon Centurion, and then come the 1/350 TOS Enterprise kit.

A remake of Black Hole sounds intriguing, if it could be made with a more serious plot line, and believable effects, to replace the running thru vacuum of space scenes in the original movie. I'd go see a newer version, for sure.

Sincerely,
Scorp. :cylon:

If you looking for reference, THIS would be the place since I've started to work on our very own "Black Hole" Gallery now...
