Rocket Man rocket project

Post by GoldCylon » Fri Oct 14, 2011 7:51 pm

I am helping out a small local fan film friend work on his next project. I have a full sized cockpit from the tv show Space Above and Beyond, and he will be using it in his next episode. The series he runs is based of the 1950's cereal series Rocketeer (not the Disney movie). The SAAB cockpit has a much more modern look than a 50's rocket but the episode was written as a experimental ship. The full sized unit is being used for close ups and I designed and built a miniature on the fly. No plans just scraps and trash to build something that has a little bit of a mix of what was needed. Far from finished but here is what I have so far. It will be used as if flying in space and also in a crash landing.

I just took a 3 hour tour of a surplus warehouse and found a ton of vintage electronics to use and Gary the guy started this up is a green screen guy also. Any help you can offer would be great if the new Mrs allows it after the honeymoon also.

On SUnday we are doing some site location research, and some test film footage. Maybe once the test work is done I can get some footage of that to show off.

Well the trip to the launch tower with the rocket ship was a success. All though I don't have any photos of the force prospective shot I did takes photos of what was being done. It was perfect per Gary the cameraman and the guy making the film.

Sorry to say I haven't see any of the finished episodes. There are 3 or 4 in the can, one that needs editing work, and this new episode. Sorry I have moved quicker than knowing is really going on. I have seen the next episode that isn't finished. It ran about 22 minutes, and for a fan film it was done with quality, and one reason I jumped on board so quickly.
