Original torso question
Does anybody knows how the torso of the original costume would look like?
It was worn over the actors' shoulders with the fake IL-head on top.
Any photos or insights are well appreciated!

Re: Original torso question
I have no idea, but I am sure it was light rigid, and some what soft to keep the actor able to wear it maybe hours on in at a time.

Re: Original torso question
I guess it shouldn't be too hard to replicate such a torso, but it would look funny since it would increase the IL's height considerably.

Re: Original torso question
I wonder if the ILs were more of a shoulder pads and a head on a stick. I think it would be better for Felix to have just stood under a robe holding a stick... much like holding an umbrella over your head. I'd rather do that than wear some elaborate harness / head gear deal with the weight on my head or shoulders. Just guessing.
Hummmm
Great question Red Eye! If anyone owned the original head maybe it would yield some clues. Guess we'll never know.

Re: Original torso question
If only we could track down the current owner of the complete costume.
All I know is that it doesn't get sold during the PiH auction. It was sold later at a private auction for $27,500, if I recall the price right.
I bet this lucky person knows all the answers to our questions!

Re: Original torso question
Aren't there a few shots where an IL series cylon moved or waved his arms around a little? I thought there was, and if so, it is unlikely that the wearer would be holding the head/shoulders on a rod. It would probably be less tiresome to wear some sort of head/shoulder harness. I did something along these lines, myself, for my daughter's costume last Halloween (Headless Horseman).Cylon-Knight wrote:I wonder if the ILs were more of a shoulder pads and a head on a stick. For example, Specter waved his arms in "The Young Lords" a lot.

I think Specter was played by Bobby Porter of Battle for the Planet of the Apes fame. He was the robot in Quark too.

Re: Original torso question
The arms could have just had dowel rods in them. He could have worked like a big muppet / puppet. He didn't have elbows as it were... they just oddly wiggled around a bit.
Hummmmm - These IL Series are a mystery!

Re: Original torso question
I have a couple photos of the original Lucifer upper body sans robe, if I can just find them… I will post them. My wife wants to do Lucifer with me being a command centurion. Could be alot of fun!

Really?! Hope you can find them... it would sooo cool to see!
If you got any other IL-Series reference, don't hesitate to post it here or drop me a PM, if you'd like to share it of course.

Re: Original torso question
I've been searching and searching. I had at least 2 or 3 decent images. No luck so far.
