Icons?

I'm getting into icon making for fun, see mine and groupleaderzetas for a example of what I do, anyone might be interested let me know, maybe I can devise something.

How about this. Can you make a run at this guy, or the helmet.

hmm, might be ab le too, what are you looking for, something star like with either the pilots helmet in it or the cylon helmet? or at least the name / type of that cylon so i acan lcoate a graphic image fro it to modify to suit, etc ive a few ideas sure but the more information on the two chosen images the better.

Well after 5 different ideas that I coudln't quite get, what you think of this. Its a spiral galaxy background with the flanges from that helm and a gold cylon helm merged together in a red holographic style with four prongs leading upwards that i figure might be similar to what the inside of the mono eye looks like. Added a targeting reticule and layered your name over it, the circle of binary is just for contrast.

howso? the text is 12 point I think, i can enlarge it though if needed, tried to center it roughly in the middle of the icon and give it a like gold hue/glow.

I always shrink it down to the size of a stamp and see what the first impressions are. or think of it as a business card at an arms length. Just my 2 cents. Some times we only get one first impression. Sink or swim in our industry. It's good work, don't get me wrong. It was just what I saw at a glance.

actually thats a good idea there the shirnking thing i had to blow it up 200-300 percent from its actual size to work with it as is hm.. I might give ti another crack then and try to resize it down or alter the composition a bit, illpost the updated design when it's set up.

Have it in a red alert version like on Star Trek. That would get everyone's attention.....My 2 cents worth of a comment.

How about this one. The viper helm is expanded a bit behind the golden targeting eye with a slightly higher point and wider flares, left as a empty pit without a face, layed atop a raider outline and a torn open galaxy that has black spaces where stars should be. Text is metallic golden style. All in glorious red alert hues.
