Re: Cylon concept designs
Thought I would throw this out.
I did a mockup of a idea for the concept chest.
and I did a size comparison for a backpack, the templates used is the bazookajoe.
the left is a HS backpack, the right is a 75% scale of the joe pack. I am thinking I need to upscale it a bit, I think around 85%.
I am wanting it to fit between the shoulder blades, the HS pack is close to covering half of each blade.
Just added new compare pic, the red/pink is at 85%
Comments please??

Looking cool... what is the oval in the center of the chest for? Going to have another color... lights... or something there?

Like the concept design, but is this back pack for a kid. It seems a bit small.

The pink backpack is 85% the size than normal, will sit a little lower on the back. It will also NOT have the neck armour. The backpack is still in the design stage. I have other subtle changes in mind.

Update..
The concept helm is glassed, next step is sanding and finishing.
I did a test to see what the eyes would look like.
warning, sound may be loud!!
Also in this vid the filter I used was made from a notebook I picked up on sale at Meijer.

Re: Cylon concept designs
Just a update on the concept cylon helmet. I am finding many problems that I am having vary difficulty repairing on the current helm prototype. So I will be scraping the unit and starting a new one. the model is vary far out of warp, and not even.
I will be sorting out the major problems in the 3D model before I remake it in glass.

That is to bad that all that work didn't work out. Good luck with the next production piece.

Keep on rockin, Zeta! You will get the bugs out soon. Maybe you can salvage the first helm into a battle damaged type display?

Re: Cylon concept designs
just thought I would pass this along. I believe I have got the bugs worked out on the concept helmet. I am currently building it in paper then fiberglass.
As you can see I made several more changes to reflect the classic helmet. noteworthy is vision, the large black area just below the red eyes will be see through material for vision. The grill is better recessed. and overall a bit larger in size.
