Hey guys,

Note on buying paint, look at the UPC code label to be sure you get the right color.

When I was getting my helmet done and ready for paint, I picked up what I thought was gold. The cap was the same as one I had, but I did not look at the UPC label. So now that I am getting the rest of the armour together and need more paint, I looked at the label to get the UPC numbers and discovered that the paint was BRASS not gold :frak: Someone put the wrong cap on the can. So when buying spray paint use the UPC label and not cap.

Tooo late, already stripped the old paint off, needed to repair a couple areas I didn't like anyway.
I now have gold and made sure it was gold.

YIKES! Un-painted your helmet... wow.

Brass is now a color...I thought it was a metal....LoL....sorry I just had to say that. Anyway I hope you did a test section before you sprayed the armor. I figured that out years ago unless it is just a piece that needs a base coat 1st then who cares, but ack that brass color over a gold color can be a true let down when you get going and switch up cans.

The helmet is almost back to white, When I get the repairs done, it will be repainted with a white base coat before any gold goes on.
