Hello everyone,
Does anyone know how many LEDs are in each of Lucifer's eyes?

My guess would be 6 or 8... but I think they might be bulbs, not LEDs... ???

I'd take the same guess as CK... 6-8 LED's will do it...
Say, groupleaderzeta: Can we expect you to make a replica IL-Series Cylon head???

I was wondering about that, too...
I think the best example for that would be Lucifer's final appearance in "War of the Gods", where they seemingly given switched from buld eye scanners to LED's...
But it's just a guess since the lighting in Baltar's command chamber was different in that one compared to earlier episodes, were it was rather dimly lit...

Hello everyone,
Possibly, does someone want to donate a shell?
I don't have the equipment to vac-form or sculpt. If someone has talent to create a 3D image in .obj format for my CAD program, I could do it.
On the head light ropes, would you say those are the simple 4 channel chase lights?

Hello everyone,
I was playing around in my 3D cad program and dropped this. Its a prototype IL series head render. The first pic is what I started with, the second is what I have so far. More progress soon.

in 1978 LED's were somewhat new were they not?
I do not know the answer on number.
RE: the poly's of the Helmet I sent you, sorry,
I do not know how to fix that- it was an IPP mesh-model and am not that advanced yet.
But it is great you are making an IL Series. I know in C4d you can make an array-Grid using Mograph. Have seen some really good set ups with LED's this way. Have not tried it or learned many things yet.
Are you attempting to make an actual recreation? maybe an animated texture would suffice?

I can lower the poly count of the helmet model. I am doing physical models in fiberglass. The helmet model will be modded and used to make a custom designed model to wear.
After I modd the 3D model of the helmet, I will import it into pepakura. Then make a paper model of it to fiberglass. Its the same way I made my custom star wars ubese helmet.
anyone want to try vac-forming a cone for me after I get the head made, I will provide model.
I still need to work on eyes and nose yet.
new render of the IL series..

Hello everyone,
It just occurred to me, does the IL series look alot like the coneheads from the movie?
Does anyone have a screen cap of him from a side view? I need a better view of his ears and nose.

Thanks. They are what I needed
one question so far, the lights in the top of the head, are they white bulbs, in a pink or purple tube?

That CG work looks great, and the idea of making it a wearable helmet like piece over the original design of a head sitting on top of someone else head is great.
Now I have never seen a purple rope of chaser lights for sale it doesn't mean the prop builders didn't do something to say a original red set, but clearly the rope hasn't chipped away so maybe they found something that was purple or a plum like color.

I have colored clear tubing before for a star trek costume (Klingon).
The technique is called drip dying, you pour dye into the tube and move the tube around so the dye coats the inside of the tube. If you use black RIT dye, it will look a deep purple when held in light.

Hello everyone,
new questions, is his lips black or purple?
and how long do you think the rope lights are? It looks like there are 2 separate ones.

Regarding from screen captures when Lucifer talks, I would say the lights within his mouth are purple:
I also think there were two ropes used for making the head lights.
