Hey guys, i was told about this place from a fellow 501st member. This forum is great..after just a few minutes of browsing i saw so many cool things here!
Well a bit about me. My name is Lou, Better known as "Darth Voorhees" on most forums. i am in Brooklyn new york. Been building costumes since i was kid. Got serious about it in 2002 building my first "screen accurate" Vader. Although it wasnt "really" screen accurate, it led me to the 501st, which i have been a member of for 3yrs now. I also make some costume stuff. Vader helmets, Fett helmets, EPII Clone helmets. I also have a bunch of greeblie parts i make and have been starting up on softparts. Im going to discontinue my Fiberglass vader helmets and only make the others, since i do them in resin. Fiberglass in a 1 bedroom apt, using the bedroom as my workshop...not so good lol. Im also in talks with a freind to build a small vac table. I have an ESB Boba Fett, a sandtrooper, and a bikerscout i use for my 501st endevours. I was a big Battlestar Galactica fan when i was a kid, mainly cuz of the cylons lol. Ive been thinking about building a classic cylon for a while now. I needed a good source for info and parts, and i think i have just found it haha. Ive seen the KS ones, but i didnt like the ABS helmet. Not sure how accurate the KS armor is, but somehow i feel ive seen better. Im gonna get crackin on research and hope to pick up /make some stuff soon!

Darth Voorhees glad you've joined up. Your 501st costumes sound great - post some pics if you have any to share. I'm pondering making a small vac table too... what a fun hobby this is, huh?

JUST NEED SPACE! lol
The Classic Centurion world is a bit smaller than the 501st

we don't have as many suppliers, but the few we have are great. Read up on all the great threads and ask any questions you have.
Looking forward to seeing your Cylon build!

Hope we can help in many ways! I too am a 501st "vet". Cylons are just in a class all their own but with a really high cool factor. We have them pretty keyed in now so jump right in.

WOW
LOVE the TK and Biker (I can't think of it's 501st shorthand)... After my Cylon I'd love to work on either one of those costumes.
P.S. Awesome avatar too

WoW Awesome builds, and I agree with Cylon-Knight about that avatar. Oh so cool with your user name. Great builds, and welcome on board, and blame any odor that leeks out of that 1 bedroom apartment on us. We are Cylons we can fix that neighbor issue...we have cool shinny toys

Yup i did... Its an acrylic wash..i used raw umber and a touch of yellow ochre. Once it dried i hit it with 600g sandpaper on the high spots. The black "scratches" are actually paint rubbed off from my t-21 blaster. (very big gun lol) looked cool to me so i left it lol.

So almost a year later, and im re-visiting the idea of building a Cylon Centurion. Ive gotten better with a sewing machine so still contemplating making the undersuit myself. I'll have a small vac table set up in the coming months and may attempt to sculpt some armor as well. We'll see how that goes lol. If not, im looking at Hand-schaub's armor..and definitely will be going the chroming route. If i have to wait for a "group chrome" thats cool, im sure its worth the wait. those chrome spray paints just dont cut it for me. Anywho, just wanted to pop in and re- introduce myself...hopefully this can get off the ground this year!
