Where to find piping fabric/vinyl?

Where have people been getting the vinyl fabric for the piping and leg "armor"? What is the right color? Just a matt dark grey? Or should it be shiny? Reflective?
Thanks.

The vinyl has a mid level luster rate to it, but that is all lost in the reflection of the armor.

For a Centurion (Silver armor)
-The correct color is "gun metal gray" ... the same color as the metal skirting and the paint used for the panels on the helmet.
-The base suit "correct color" is a silver-ish/purple... called "Plumb."
HOWEVER... if your friend is making a Command Centurion (Gold armor)

then the undersuit should be
ALL black - the vinyl and lycra both.

He's going for the regular Centurian.

He already has the purple lycra. I just need the grey vinyl or whatever. Does anyone have a source?

If you can locate some matching vinyl please keep us updated on your project.
Is always nice to see how another Centurion is coming together...
I'm still desperately waiting for my own undersuit to arrive...

I checked the JoAnn's closest to me, but they didn't have anything that would work. I think I'm going to have to make a trip to the Super JoAnn's and see if their selection is bigger. Otherwise, I'll try ordering a swatch of the stuff I found online to see what it's like in real life.
I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on my progress...when I do start.

The 1st suit I made I used just black piping, but I did use the correct fabric color, and the suit came out great. I don't think the color of the piping is as important if it is going to be used for trooping, over 100% display. Just my opinion on it.

I think they should do a Cylon Under Suit contest on Project Runway

Luckily, I finally received a reply from them after FULL 3 MONTHS of waiting...
Here's what they wrote:
"Due to a customer complain relating to a defect in the fabric we were using for the Cylon undersuits, your order has been delayed while we secure a more durable fabric for the costume. Sorry for any inconvenience."
No word about how long it'll take before they can finish the suit.
I'm very disappointed due to their insufficient customer service so I can't recommend them anymore, sorry.
All I can do now is to hope that I'd be able to receive it in the near future after all...

I have spoke with them a few times and I have no idea if I spoke with a m or f. Lack of the ability to sign their name to email exchange plus bad attitude about they should list for FREE on here.

OH MY they upset the Imperious Leader and a Gold Command Centurion --- YIKES!
I know it has be a LOT of both work and leg work to get the suits done and off to customers... but an email or two here and there would a good idea with all the time/money that is involved by both parties.
One good thing - they do stand by their work and are redoing everything to the best it can be.
That's cool.
