Just came across this thread. Any updates on this? Has this been completed or abandoned?

It isn't completed yet, but I will be working on it this week to take to GalactiCon 4 in Seattle later this month. It won't be finished, but it will be the cockpit to nose section.

As I m my help were preparing the final day of work on the Viper the news came that GalactiCon had major money flow issues, and cancelled the major guest list. With that big disappointing news I made the choice not to attend as many others did the same by not attending. That hasn't stopped me from still working on the project. Local buddies Mark, and Brian were a big help in the final push days before I cancelled the showing. My plan 1 week ago was to paint the ship nose section as it sat, and then load it after it dried, and take off early the next morning for the 13 hour drive to Seattle. Since that didn't happen, and back to work I have started again. I was approached twice in a 24 hour period to make a showing at a local toy show, and Salt Lake Con I think in February. Here are a few random pictures of the work currently.

Will it be used as a float etc etc for parades.
Pity about the Galacticon this year :brokenheart:

Sorry about the delay, but here we go a few current condition (update) on the build. I didn't get as far as I had hoped with painting, but I thought it was more important to have the detail correct. I was doing a 48 inch long straight edge check on a flush surface when I found a 22 inch long section 4 inched wide 1/2 inch think I needed to build up to have a flush surface. I was also having dry time issues with the filler agents. The very last round of fiberglass on the build took 3 hours to dry. It was to close to the sun setting to break out the paint equipment. I'll take a stab at getting some paint down this weekend. Till then here are a few photos.
