Skullbeast - building a Cylon

Thanks I think so far I got 30 minutes into it and most of that was burning off the threads frayed edges. I used some leather shears and the wrist was off in seconds.

Taking note of the strips Red Eye has around the wrist area. That material needs to be the same material that is used for the piping that is used in the under suit. It is a vinyl like gun metal color. I found a 95% color match , but the thickness was very thin, and it wrinkled up to easy to wrap around the melts cord.

Is that a typo, melt cord?
You are referring to the cuff?
Is it a lamination?

Welting cord is what I meant. The material I am talking about is the ribs. That vinyl materiel used for the ribs is the same that is used on the gloves.

I looked in the gallery but most were from the top or the reflections were so strong.ImageImage

Looks correct to me. Don't forget you have a 1 inch wide exposed strip on the inside you attach after it is chromed.

OK here is a short video of the inside of the shoulder bell. Hope this works, and if not I bought a caliper tool.

Thanks gold cylon!!
Very interesting. It differs from the kit a little. Cora has provided duplicate right and left parts, 4 in all for the plates. It looks like on yours the second or lower level is a styrene sheet glued in place. Huh I gotta study your vid a bit more.

I think that video you posted is over 1000 words of goodness. That unformed lower level bells out a bit. Giving that unique look. I'm looking at the way the reflections are cast, that detail gives a lot character to the assembly, that you would not retain by using the same part. Instead a simple styrene strip. The Study continues.......

You are correct about it just being a strip. Nothing special at all, except maybe a blow dryer to give a slight arch to the strip to ease the gluing it down point, and time. Glad it helps.

OK I have the measurements, but you forgot the other side. That different length, and also the other bell isn't the same exact measurements. So it does have a slight ball park guess.
The long down the center measurement 6 3/8
The short front side (the side you measured) 1 3/4
The back side (the one you didn't measure) 2 1/4
I didn't measure the other bell, but I recall years ago comparing them and they were off about 1/8 to 1/4 each measurement so builders choice.
The strip is an 1 1/2
