I've always said there are Gold and Chrome that's it. No copper or bronze, etc. Your second cap does show it better that there are two Golds.GoldCylon wrote:Well I'll see about grabbing a better image but you do admit to a Gold Cylon now. That is a first. Blahaha.

Here's my two cents... I believe only gold and chrome. They offered gold and chrome cylons in the merchandise chain but never a bronze one. I put the disc in my bluray player and it upconverts it and I have a 65" plasma and they are indeed gold at least to my eyes.

I would from watching the show agree in gold only but, I have seen bronze su parts in person. Therefore you other folks are speculating. Cylon gold, I'm with you, therefor I believe in the bronze cylon.

These non believers must be taken down....the proof is in the pudding.....I knew a good in person view of the parts side by side might influence my now growing numbers of believers.
Maybe this will help also.

Well since skullbeast is my new hero, and Gold Cylon has more real screen used Cylon costumes, props and memorabilia than anyone on the 13th colony,Skullbeast wrote:I would from watching the show agree in gold only but, I have seen bronze su parts in person. Re: *Official* Helmet & Armor Thread
Sure there may be some different hue Command Centurions as they rushed making them I'm sure. And the Gold didn't quite match suit Vs. suit. Also time takes a toll on any finish and the suits were not made with the intent to look like the day they were made - over three decades later...
Like cylonbuilder and I have said - merchandising ONLY had (gold) Command Centurions and (silver) Centurions. Universal would have taken Star War

Did merch make any civi's or specter?
And the toys were based off the garrison leader any who. And the gold has an insignia, I don't remember that in the show.

There was a classic Lucifer toy, yes. (And Baltar if you want to count him as Cylon)Skullbeast wrote:Did merch make any civi's or specter?

Re: *Official* Helmet & Armor Thread
No, it's not a weak argument, and it is only part of my stance. There are simply ZERO plots/scenes/dialogue/anything in the show to support any more types of Centurions other than Command and Standard. ONLY a FEW physical costume parts and pieces some thirty years removed along with questionable construction techniques, budget and time constraints and lighting issues even give rise to a fabled "copper" or "bronze" Centurion existing in the first place...
The 2 Centurion toy merchandise tangent is just a bonus to underline my point.
And I have seen those images and many more while I've recently spent HOURS sorting 959 images in 55 folders, 91.2 MB in size. (That is JUST the merchandise section of the BYC.net Gallery I'm reworking). There is PLENTY of merchandise (period 1978 stuff) just because there were only a few 4 inch or so figures and ships from Mattel (where Kenner and Star War's MAJORLY pushed figures) doesn't mean BSG didn't merchandise. All the inaccurate low quality, odd ball, China stuff, shared parts with other toys, that isn't unique to BSG toys... that is what sells - that is why toy companies do that. Because George Lucas was smart enough to cash in on his space saga with better merchandising does not a bronze Cylon make.
What, you never worked on your Daggit latch hook while all cozy in your Lucifer pajamas?
...OH I see on my Battlestar Galactica watch I need to get to bed. Must be careful not to step on my Battlestar Galactica Silly Putty on the way.
That's my view...
Reguardless, if anyone wants to make a Copper or Bronze Centurion that's cool - do so - and post up a thread about it. I'll enjoy reading about it as I do every post at ByYourCommand.net.

I see your point and I do remember that stuff ( I did have alot of it) Not the pajamas but alot of the other stuff...
I guess I would have to agree with you on some of your arrgument, my point was that I do remember the merchandise and I thought it a rough go to make the point that they didn't make a bronze cylon action figure so there never was a Bronze Cylon....My arrgument was there was alot of things that they did not make that were in the series and alot of things that were not in the series that they did make...and alot of the things that they did make were so crappy and inaccurate that one could not use the merchandise angle as an example.....Does that make sense?
anyway not important , Just my opinion
I'm looking forward to seeing the gallery, I know if your re-working it it must be good!
