I have heard it before, but the link to the sound demo is now down. It was a OK sounding vocoder like device, but the price of $400 is way over the top compared to almost the same type of sound changing device you can pick up around Halloween for less than $10 in most cases. I have a few cool sounding ones that I used a battery operated power amp to play back the eye scanner swipe, and the Cylon sounds like voice. It was awesome, but man the eye scanner swipe will drive you crazy in less than 1 hour if you're going to wear the suit.

I saw this DIY item "Galactic Voice" a few years ago when it was released, but yet to hear what it sounds like. No one that I am aware of has bought it.

So the Silicon Chip one... I wonder what the cost is? You have to buy the book to even see what the build would cost...
?

Skull, I have the hyperdyne voice, I like it. Its a bit steep in price, but so far I have been unimpressed with everything else i have found so far so I shilled out the cash as it better than nothing. If you have Yahoo messenger, we can plan a time to be on and i can run it through the pc so you can hear it live.

First off I hope you are enjoying TapaTalk. I love the app for my iPhone.
As for the photo no one that I know off has ever seen this out side the single photo, and the deleted scenes on the DVD. I have talked with the guys that bought these suits when they went up for sale back in the early 90's, and that piece was refitted or it walked off the set after it was decided not to use that ranking system, and the choice of colored Cylons were easier to spot even if turned around over a chest, and throat piece. Since the chest piece is formed around the curves it is thought to be a custom made part. The throat piece looks like just a piece not found yet.

These insignias were first seen in the pilot episode "Saga of a Star World" and were worn by the Carillon Garrison Leader.
Like Dale said, it was an early attempt to make a Command Centurion before they got the idea of the golden or bronze Commanders.
I also have plans adding these two insignias to my Centurion as well...
I've posted these photos in other threads before, but here are they again, if they'll help:
